Let's Ponder a 50th Reunion
Shortly after attending the 40th reunion in the fall of 2010 a few of us also attended the homecoming game at El Camino Real. Now that was a blast. The playing field had been newly "turfed". 10th, 11th and 12th grade class representatives each trekked around the field with their respective class floats (wagons). The homecoming king and queen were presented. The marching band played the original "lost" alma mater. Then our football team lost the game to Chatsworth High. What memories it all brought back.
So, although this is an early thought, we'd like to propose a reunion in 2020 around the 2020 50th homecoming game. The game will probably be held on a Friday night, so it would be a perfect occasion to include the game as a Friday get-together. Then on Saturday night we'll look for some local venue that will be large enough to hold the few standout, die hard reunion participants who will make the trek.
Unfortunately we learned a long time ago that each reunion usually includes about half the number of participants from the previous reunion. That means we could probably have our reunion in someone's living room. Instead, it's a grand scheme of ours to announce these general plans early and stick to them through the years so that everyone, even those who have never attended a reunion, or who have not done so in many years, can consider this big event as the one to attend. Why not make plans now. What can be better than attending a 50th reunion in the valley, nearby our high school? I know what can be better -- we can win the homecoming game! {smile}.
If you have not kept us up to date on your whereabouts, and if you have any thought of maybe participating (even if it's [sigh] "I will go, but only if so and so goes...") please - please - please complete our contact update form.
Thanks
